Al Capone
Al Capone is the best known American gangster during the 1920s. Capone was the leading role in illegal activities that made Chicago seems to be a lawless city. Capone became a part of the notorious five point’s gang in Manhattan and worked at Harvard inn as a bouncer and bartender. While working at the inn, Capone tried to flirt with a girl and he got stabbed in the face for this. He received his infamous facial scars and the resulting nickname “Scarface”. The gangs who say all of Capone’s murders didn’t say anything to the cops because of the gangland etiquette. This led to Al Capone never getting charged for his crimes sometimes. Capone controlled speakeasies, bookie joints, gambling houses, brothels horse and race tracks, nightclubs, distilleries and breweries at a reported income of $100,000,000 a year. He was a part of the St. Valentines massacre which was on February 14, 1929. Capone finally served his first prison time in May of 1929. All the crimes he has done caught up to him and he was sent to one of the toughest prisons in Atlanta, to begin his eleven year sentence. The word later spread that Capone had taken over in Atlanta, he was sent to Alcatraz. He died from cardiac arrest.
The Gangster and the Flapper by Salvador Dolley
He’s a cold hearted and
A mean person to be around.
His eyes were always
Black and dark
No soul or heart
When he smiles at you
It makes you want
To cringe up
Into a ball
His boys would
Do his light work for him
Selling packs of drugs,
And bootlegging liquor
But his woman?
His woman isn’t the type
You’ll expect to be hanging
With a creep like him.
She was beautiful.
Her short brown hair
Would sway when she’d
Turn and smile
To the crowd.
“Hello boys?”
She flirted
"Get ova he!"
He pulled
A mean person to be around.
His eyes were always
Black and dark
No soul or heart
When he smiles at you
It makes you want
To cringe up
Into a ball
His boys would
Do his light work for him

But his woman?
His woman isn’t the type
